True Holiness Assemblies of Truth United International

Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Areas of Concentration for this blog are Leadership Development and Leadership Preparedness

This blog’s sponsor is the Leadership Development Institute (LDI), which is the official training center for True Holiness Assemblies of Truth United International (THAT United) and all of its affiliates. The LDI faculty established this blog to serve as an online interface, to present  the principles of leadership to our veteran and aspiring church leaders.

True Holiness Leadership Development Institute exists to glorify Jesus Christ as Lord by helping church leaders master their ministry.

 What LDI Provides

The Leadership Development Institute programs support every facet of ministry and administrative operations, within THAT United’s association of congregations.  These congregations are located in the states of Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio of the United States of America.

Within its Bible-centered leadership programs, LDI provides practical experience, mentorship, and coaching opportunities for professional ministerial development and personal growth.  Therefore, this blog is an important resource for our organization’s leadership.

Every person has a different learning style and a particular calling in the ministry, therefore LDI programs encourages each learner to excel in their individualized coursework and practical application of the word of God.  The one thing that we all have in common is that we all expect a high quality education and learning experiences. Therefore, LDI is prepared to deliver on those expectations.

Developing Leaders

The Leadership Development Institute is growing out of a specific concern for building and enlarging the Kingdom of God. Each program is specifically designed for each learner.  The kind of community in which the learner ministers greatly determines the specific design of the training sessions as well. At the completion of each certificate program, the learner’s level of motivation will be heightened.

LDI develops Bible-centered individualized certificate programs that can be designed according to the educational needs of each learner. Our certificate programs are for the experienced and inexperienced ministers who want to continue to develop their leadership abilities or work toward their  ministerial credentials.  There are also courses for evangelists, pastoral and church administrators.  Most of our learners will be referred by their pastors.

Professional Development

Personal Development and Ministerial Ethics are addressed throughout each session.

The Faculty

Our faculty and administration hold various undergraduate and graduate degrees in theology, biblical education, business administration, accounting, finance, social work, psychology,  fine arts,  and human resource development.  Our faculty is striving to design and present the best programs possible. Each faculty member believes as Paul stated:

Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God; [Even] the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: (Colossians 1:25-28)

Biblical Principles of Leadership Are Relevant to Everyone

We welcome you to the Leadership Development Institute and we expect that your hard work will be abundantly rewarded.

This resource site will not only benefit True Holiness’ leaders; it will also help any leader in any organization, because we have found that the principles of leadership are relevant to all organizations and all levels of leadership.  However, we also firmly believe that the Holy Scriptures hold the foundation for successful leadership development, because some of the greatest leaders in  world history are documented in the Bible.

For example, the Bible has record of  one leader that led an entire  nation of one million people out of slavery into  prosperity within 18 months,  another rebuilt a totally destroyed city with unskilled labor, and other New Testament leaders taught an unpopular gospel that now influences all nations, languages, throughout all generations.  Their successes were not based on human wisdom, but on the wisdom of God.

Our Audience

This site provides the seasoned pastor, the newly appointed elder, the evangelist, the church administrator, the Sunday school teacher, business administrator, church trustees, deacons, et al,  with   Leadership Development and Preparedness  resources.

This information is integrated into a compilation of related business topics, biblical education, and leadership development and training instruction, which will help prepare the participant for excellence in spiritual and administrative leadership.

The compiled resources will include course materials from the Leadership Development Institute which promotes critical thinking, effective communication, articulation and development of ethical values, an appreciation for diverse human experience and achievement, and mastery of their spiritual vocation.

This Site’s Objectives are to

  • Encourage personal change initiatives

  • Define Leadership

  • Help develop people and encourage community building

  • Integrate biblical doctrine and professional practice, and ethical standards into the context of leadership performancewhile emphasizing life-long learning.

The LDI’s Overall Objective is to

Present to the Lord Jesus Christ, a people prepared, confident, and motivated to nurture and educate others. The institute will accomplish this by implementing coordinated biblical, general, and professional studies.

As societies continue to change from age to age, the mission of the church of God remains unchanged and always will be relevant to mankind. In times past hardly any societal norms or laws affected the operations of the church, but today governments and other institutions have imposed certain operational regulations on the church and its leaders. Therefore, church leadership needs to have an additional set of administrative and executive leadership skills in order to comply with these new regulations. The Leadership Development Institute is ready to respond to those needs.

 In Summary

This site delivers a firm response to the social and academic problems that hinder church leadership development.  Although this blog is primarily targeted for our organization, we urge all of our visitors to surf the pages for information that might be helpful to their work and profession as well.  Be encouraged to take part in discussions, ask questions of the blog  hosts (LDI faculty) and return often to review the various educational resources that are posted here.

THE PASTORAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

All pastors and pastors’ helpers do not enter their callings at the same seasons of their lives. Some of them begin their ministry with little knowledge of church management, leadership skills and organizational development. That is why the Leadership Development Institute can be a valuable asset to the church leader.

THE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM FOR CHURCH ELDERS

This Program was designed by the Board of Bishops’ of True Holiness Assemblies of Truth United, as a component of their Succession Plan. This is a 5-Year Program. The Content of this Program will expand from Year to Year.

Church government is created by God with regulations, commandments, ordinances, for propagation and preservation. Every New Testament church needs qualified and capable elders. This is the biblical pattern. For example, Moses was assisted by 70 elders (Numbers 11:16-17) and the church in Jerusalem was led by elders who were trained by Jesus. Paul continued the pattern by sending Timothy and Titus to appoint elders in Ephesus and Crete.

Other Programs are:

Leadership for Church Education  Programs

  • Christian Education

  • Christian Education Administration

Evangelism Leadership I Program

  • Principles of Evangelical Leadership

Evangelism Leadership II Program

  • Advanced Evangelism

Ministerial Preparation for Licensing Program

  • Ministerial Foundations

THE BIBLICAL MODEL FOR TRAINING ELDERS

We believe that an educational system that does not include the local church is ineffective for preparing individuals for pastoral leadership. Those isolated education systems do not provide for practical experience.  Many instructors are merely academics and are not practicing theologians as well.

The Bible teaches that the church is responsible for training its leaders to become elders, who are also called pastors and overseers.  While exercising their gifts within the church, the scriptures teach that all qualified leaders should “make full proof of their ministry” to their senior leadership. Acquisition of biblical, administrative, community and spiritual knowledge is to be approved of by other church leaders, who have academic and practical (real life) experiences.

Paul sent Timothy and Titus to cities to identify, train and ordain elders within the church.

For example:
• In Acts 11, after the good news was proclaimed to those in Antioch, Luke records that the Jerusalem church sent Barnabas there to strengthen them. Barnabas in turn found Paul and “so for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people” (11:22-26).

• Acts 13:1 indicates that in addition to Paul and Barnabas there were more “prophets and teachers” who had been sent to Antioch, presumably to train men at the Antioch church. After their initial evangelistic visits to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, Paul and Barnabas returned to these cities and appointed elders in each church (14:21-23).  (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9).

• In Acts 19,  Luke says that Paul held daily discussions in a lecture hall for a period of two years (vv 9-10).

True Holiness Assemblies of Truth United International is blessed to have academically and theologically trained leadership, who are capable of establishing an adequate leadership training institution that aid the pastor that also provide for the student lifelong learning experiences.  We believe that the church should be the matrix for discipleship and all other institutions should complement its specific needs.
